in Promise of the Day

Today’s promise is 1 Peter 2:24:

“…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

Have you ever had someone take the blame and punishment for something you did? Maybe a sibling, a friend, or even a stranger? Jesus didn’t just take on the sin and punishment of one person for one deed. He took on every sin in history, for every human being on earth! I know the grief I feel when I fail God, but I can’t even imagine the pain Jesus must have felt, having the sins of the world separate Him from the Father for the first time in His existence. I couldn’t live for righteousness if I tried, had Jesus not done that for me. I could never be whole had He not taken the lashes I so greatly deserve. Thank you, Jesus!

Heavenly Father, when I think of the price Your beautiful Son paid for me, I am humbled to my core. The only place for me is prostrate at Your feet. Help me to remain there, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
