Promise of the Day: Proverbs 6:22-23

in Promise of the Day

Today’s promise is Proverbs 6:22-23:

When you roam, they will lead you;
When you sleep, they will keep you;
And when you awake, they will speak with you.
For the commandment is a lamp,
And the law a light;
Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

The Complete Jewish Bible actually says, “reproofs that discipline are the way to life.” Who says life doesn’t come with instructions? God loves us far too much to do that to us. When our sin made it impossible for Him to live with us, He gave us the Word. His Word was alive even as He gave it. Capable of leading us, guarding us, speaking to us, and lighting our way. And now, we have The Holy Spirit living inside of us as well. If we spent as much time in God’s Word and praying in The Spirit as we do reading the latest self-help guides or on Facebook, we would all find the happiness and peace we all so desperately seek.
Heavenly Father, give me a hunger for the Bread of Life. Give me a thirst for Your Living Water, that I may be filled with You and have abundant life and overflowing joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Have a victorious day in The Lord!
