Promise of the Day: Psalm 94:18

in Promise of the Day

Today’s promise is Psalm 94:18:

“If I say, ‘My foot slips,’ Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.”

Once our young daughter saw a jungle gym and was determined to get to the top. In spite of my misgivings, up she climbed! All of a sudden, half-way to the top, she realized how high up she was. Her eyes grew wide,  and she froze. “Daddy, help!” she called. “I’m stuck!” But, instead of taking hold of her and carrying her down, Daddy climbed up and stood just below her, encouraging her to take one more rung, and then another, as she protested, “No, Daddy! I can’t do it! I want to go down!” Yet, Daddy kept urging her on, until together, they finally reached the top. “I did it!” she exclaimed. “Mommy, look! I did it!” The daring duo made their way back down the jungle gym in the same fashion, and jumping off the bottom rung, our daughter threw her arms around her daddy. “Thank you, Daddy! I love you!”

Kind of reminds me of another Daddy I know . . .

Have a victorious day in The Lord!
