in Promise of the Day

Today’s promise is John 15:4:

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”

The True Vine

It seems that from the time of our birth, humans strive for independence. “Me do me self!” is the declaration of the head-strong two-year-old, and we get more determined as we grow. The hardest and yet most vital thing we will ever do for ourselves is give up our desire to be in control and surrender to the One who is all powerful. It is also the most rewarding thing we will ever do.

Heavenly Father, please help me to continue to surrender my will to You. You hold everything in Your hand, You have all I could ever need, and You are victorious! Please, make me victorious in You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
